Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js / Python) | Vilnius

We are building an ambitious B2B SaaS product in the fields of architecture and spatial data. We are currently developing its technical core, combining complex data models, rule-based algorithms, 2D/3D environments, and AI integrations.

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer who can quickly get up to speed with complex systems, make sound technical decisions, and implement them independently. This is a hands-on role for someone who builds solutions independently and proactively suggests safe, practical ways to evolve the product’s core.

What you will do

• Build and maintain server-side logic, APIs, data models, databases, and external integrations.
• Work with a TypeScript / Node.js backend and Python processes for data processing, calculations, and AI integrations.
• Dive into the existing codebase, define technical priorities together with the product team, and propose how to evolve the system safely.
• Build automated tests, reliable deployment workflows, monitoring, and error logging.
• Implement secure authentication, user access control, project and document storage, and contribute to data protection at a technical level.
• Integrate AI solutions and evaluate their quality, speed, reliability, and cost.
• Work closely with the product team to clarify technical problems and deliver selected solutions.

What we expect

• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills.
• Strong Python skills and experience with data processing, algorithms, or integrations.
• Experience building and maintaining backend systems, APIs, data models, and databases.
• Ability to quickly understand and safely improve an existing codebase.
• Experience with automated testing, deployment workflows, monitoring, and data protection.
• Ability to independently deliver functionality from idea to a working result.
• A pragmatic mindset and clear communication skills.
• Good English skills for working with technical documentation, tools, and integrations.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with ezdxf or other tools for reading, generating, or transforming DXF / CAD files.
• Experience with GIS, PostGIS, maps, or coordinate systems.
• Experience with AI model APIs, document analysis, RAG, or agentic systems.
• Experience with React or Next.js.
